OVERCOMING UNBELIEF (7)
TEACHING LEARNING
(1) We have look at prayer, fasting as a way to overcome unbelief, now we are going to look at teaching, or in our case learning
(2) Matthew 13:58
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
(a) Because of their unbelief enough said
(3) Mark 6:5-6
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
[6] And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
(a) Because of their unbelief
(b) Let's see what Jesus did
(c) He starting teaching
(4) Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
(5) Matthew 9:2
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
(a) Jesus saw faith
(6) Matthew 9:22
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
(a) Notice Jesus said thy faith, or as we would say today, your faith has made you whole
(b) Notice Jesus did not say my faith has made you whole, He said your faith, He did not or has He ever said by my power you are made whole
(7) 2 Tim. 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(a) We have to rightly divide the Word of Truth
(b) Understand this that your faith will get you the promises of God, your faith can help people receive from God, but if that person is full of unbelief, you are to going find yourself like Jesus
(c) Can't do it, why because of unbelief
(d) Personal needs are base on personal faith
(e) You can believe for a babe in Christ for awhile but after awhile God expects them to grow up
(8) Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
(a) According to your faith, according to your faith, according to your faith
(b) Be it unto you
(c) Jesus did not say according to my faith be it unto you, according to your faith
(d) We know Jesus has all faith, but it is not by His faith, it is by our faith
(e) Our faith in the Word of God
(f) Jesus did not say according to my power be it unto you, according to your faith
(g) Jesus has all power
(h) Jesus' faith and His power will not overcome one's unbelief, but if He can get them to believe the Word God, faith will come, unbelief will leave, this is why He when about teaching
(9) 2 Tim. 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
(a) You can be a good teacher, and people will not hear you, if will are not careful we will stop our growth in the Lord if we have itching ears
(b) Sometimes when we hear something that is new to us we can past it on as not being from God because we didn't know it
(c) So my question is this am I learning, are you learning, we should be growing in Christ
(d) Many children of God have stop growing, God help us but many of God ministers having grow in years
(e) If the preachers don't grow how in the world can we help others to grow
(f) I am not against a preacher using some of his old messages, but if all we have is old stuff and nothing new
(h) We do God wrong, we do God's people wrong, and as a preacher of the gospel if we have stop growing we do ourselves wrong
(10) Matthew 15:28
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
(a) Great is thy faith
(b) Be it unto you Why because of great faith
(11) Mark 5:34
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
(a) Thy faith has made you whole
(b) Notice in these verses Jesus is talking to the people and telling them over and over again, thy faith, Jesus is saying your faith not mine has got you this miracle
(12) Mark 10:52
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
(13) Acts 14:8-10
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
[9] The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
[10] Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
(a) Paul perceived the man had faith to be healed
(b) When it comes to others they will have to believe to get their miracle
(c) You are responsible for your faith, you can receive and have ever thing that the Bible says is ours
(d) Go after God and remember one way to go after Him is to believe His Word
(e) REMEMBER THIS
(14) 2 Cor. 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
