TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE
PART V

Jesus came to undo what Satan has done

HOW JESUS IS ABLE TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE

I. THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WAS UPON HIM

II. ANOINTED TO PREACH

III. PREACH THE GOSPEL

IV.  PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR

V.  HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED

VI.  PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

(1) Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

VII.
RECOVERING OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND

2. Rev. 3:17-18
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
[18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

(3) Here Jesus gives to us a clear indication of the blindness He came to take away -- the blindness to our spiritual condition.

(4) As the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, He is in reality empowering us to see for the first time our true spiritual condition.

(5) The Holy Spirit is indeed enabling the blind to see.

(6) In the above verse, Jesus also gives us insight to the cause of our spiritual blindness.

(7) It is a proud, hard, arrogant heart which will cause this spiritual blindness.

(8) 2 Cor. 4:3-4
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
[4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

(9) Jesus came to undo what Satan has done.., Satan has blinded minds, but Jesus came to recover the sight of the blind

(10) John 9:39
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

(11) John 9:39-41
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
[40] And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
[41] Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

(12) N.I.V. = Jn. 9:39-41 = v-39 Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”
v-40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?”
v-4 1 Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

(13) With this verse we come to understand that if we continue to reject the efforts of the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin,

(14) There remains no hope.

(15) If in the arrogance of our heart

(16) We continue to reject the Holy Spirit’s definition of right and wrong

(17) For our own defmition (in essence calling evil, good and good, evil),

(18) We will never see a need for a savior

(19) And our spiritual blindness becomes deadly.

(20) But Jesus came to recover our sight

(21) Jesus will restore your sight, for some here this morning he has already restore your sight
