NOT  IGNORANT

2 Cor. 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

(1) We are not ignorant of Satan devices, because of the Word of God, and the Spirit of God

(2) The Amplified Bible reads in
2 Cor. 2:11
To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us; for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions.

(3) Ignorant = Strong's Greek Number 3540 = Greek word: noema
no'-ay-mah = Usage Notes: KJV - mind 4 - device 1- thought 1 [Total Count: 6]
1) a mental perception, thought
2) an evil purpose
3) that which thinks, the mind, thoughts or purposes

(4) So we see Satan’s, mind, thoughts, purposes, or his intentions, we are not ignorant of these things = John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

(5) The only way for us to be ignorant of Satan’s plan, is to ignore the Word of God

(6) Ignore means = to refuse to notice or pay attention to somebody or something

(7) To refuse to notice or pay attention to the Word of God, or the Spirit of God, will give Satan an advantage over us

(8) Advantage = Strong's Greek Number 4122 =
Greek word: pleonekteo pleh-on-cek-teh'-o
KJV - make a gain 2 - defraud 2 - get an advantage 1 [Total Count: 5]
1) to have more, or a greater part or share
1a) to be superior, excel, surpass, have an advantage over
2) to gain or take advantage of another, to overreach

(a) Advantage = superior position:

(9) So Satan is looking for a superior position over us, but the Word of God says in
Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

(10) Jesus says He has given the Church, the superior position, the Church has power over all the power of the enemy, Satan is your enemy isn’t he

LET’S SEE SATAN TRYING TO GET
THE ADVANTAGE

(1) We have to stay focus on the things of the Word of God
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(a) Keeping our eyes on the Lord is really keeping our eyes on His instruction

(2) Let’s look in
Numbers 20:1-12
Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
[2] And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
  (a) Notice the wrong of the people they gathered themselves together against Moses and Aaron, God’s choosen leaders

[3] And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!
  (a) Now we see that they chode with Moses an old English word = meaning to scold, reprove, reprimand, rebuke, blame, contend with

[4] And why have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?
[5] And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
[6] And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them.
  (a) Notice Moses and Aaron leaves the crybabies, and go to seek God

[7] And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
[8] Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
  (a) Notice the command speak to the rock

[9] And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.
[10] And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
  (a) Now Satan is going to get an advantage over Moses, and this is how he done it

  (b) Moses got his eyes off the instruction of the Lord, or the Word of the God

  (c) He got his eyes on the people, and their crybabies ways

  (d) Now he is going to go against the Word of God, because he allow someone else’s wrong to affect him

  (e) Hear you rebels, must we fetch water for you, God did not tell him to speak to the people

[11] And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

  (a) Now he smote the rock twice, God did not say strike the rock, no the Word of God said speak to the rock

[12] And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

  (a) Now when we do things our own way the Lord is going to talk to us

  (b) Now to Moses and Aaron, He says, you did not believed Me, you did not sanctify Me, and now a blessing that should have been yours will not, you will not bring them into the land

(3) One time a person had did me wrong, about twenty times in a few short weeks, I told them a truth with the wrong motive,

(4) The Lord told me to apologize, they did wrong I had to apologize, why I let their wrong doings affect me getting my motive wrong

(5) You see I say a great truth to this person, but my motive was to set them straight when the Lord had not instructed me to

(6) So I call them back and told them I was sorry for what I had said, what they had done was not mention, I was taking care of my spirit

LOOKING INTO THE WORD

(1) Matthew 5:23-24
   Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

  (a) Here we see you come before the Lord, you remember your brother has something against you, what do you do verse 24

[24] Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

  (a) Go and make things right
Romans 12:18
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

  (b) Take care of your part don’t worry about their part, when you concern yourself with their part, You give Satan a superior position

(2) Mark 11:25-26
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

  (a) Now in this verse we see they we have ought not our brother, and we see that we can handle this one different

  (b) If we have something against our brother, we can forgive them if it is only in us

  (c) The verses in Matthew teach that our brothers had something against us, so we have to go to them, this verse in mark teaches that we have something against our brother

[26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

  (a) We have to forgive to b e forgiven

(3) Ephes. 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.
(4) Ephes. 4:31-32
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

(5) I heard a preacher one time talked about two sister that was coming to his meetings, and how that they acted different when they both was at the service

(6) He got them to ask each other to forgive each other, when they did God healed both of them

WHAT IS THE DEVIL
WORRY ABOUT

(1) Genesis 11:6
And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

(2) What worries the devil, the people being one, for when we are one in God, nothing can stop us

(3) This is why we forgive, for when we forgive and have nothing against our brother or sister

(4) Then and then only, are we not ignorant, and Satan does not have an advantage over us

REALLY WHAT IS PAUL
SAYING

(1) Is Paul really talking about forgiveness, let’s look one more time

(2) 2 Cor. 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

(a) We see Paul saying, lest Satan should get an advantage

(b) What is he talking about, I believe we can fin that answer in verse 10

(3) 2 Cor. 2:10
   To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

(4) Satan will get an advantage, if we don’t forgive everyone
