TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE
PART VI

Jesus came to undo what Satan has done

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

HOW JESUS IS ABLE TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE

I.
THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WAS UPON HIM

II.
ANOINTED TO PREACH

III.
PREACH THE GOSPEL

IV.
PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR

V.
HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED

VI.
PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES

VII.
RECOVERING OF SIGHTTO THE BLIND

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

VIII.
SET AT LIBERTY THEM THAT ARE BRUISED

(1) Strong’s (2352) Gr. THRAUO = to crush, (Vine’s) = to smite, shatter, that is broken by calamity

(2) Jesus Christ met people at their points of pain

(3) Have you been bruised

(4) Bruised by harsh words

(5) Bruised by a spouse’s unfaithfulness

(6) Bruised by a friend’s anger

(7) Bruised by your own failure

(8) Bruised by self righteousness of others

(9) Society knows what to do with you, the world has a place for the beaten, the world were break you off; the world will snuff you out

(10) But the scriptures proclaimed that God won’t

(11) The Creator has a special place for the bruised of the world

(12) The God who is the friend of the wounded heart

(13) A God who is the keeper your dreams

(14) The New Testament proclaims this truth well

(15) The devil came to bruised, to crush, but Jesus came to undo what Satan has done

TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE

Bruised in the Greek language display’s an image of not only brokenness, but a shattering into small pieces.

(1) This shattering of our spirit was done to us by an outside force.

(2) Even as our spirit was shattered by an outside force,

(3) God sent an outside force to restore it.

(4) Our shattered, downtrodden spirit came through the disobedience of someone other than ourselves

(5) Is now bound up, made whole, and restored through the obedience of another.

(6) 1 Cor. 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

(7) Romans 5:17-19
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) [18] Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
[19] For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

(8) When it comes to healing our spiritual conditions we don’t have a chance

(9) We might as well be told to a pole-vault the moon

(10) Our only hope is in the work of Jesus, thank God for his son

(11) Luke 5:12-13
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
[13] And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.

(12) God has thrown like jackets to every generation

(13) God made your alive

(14) God forgave

(15) He counseled the debt

(16) He took away the record

(17) He won the victory

(18) He showed the world

(19) God’s efforts are strongest when I efforts are useless

(20) Jesus said in verse 13 be thou clean

(21) I wish we would take Jesus and his word

(22) I wish that we would leam that when he says something it happens

(23) What is this stubborn unwillingness to be healed

(24) When Jesus tells us to be clean, let us be clean

(25) When he says we’re forgiven, let us unload the guilt

(26) When he says we are valuable, let us believe him

(27) When he says were provided for, let us stop worrying

28. Mark 5:25-34
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
[26] And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
[27] When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
[28] For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
[29] And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
[30] And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
[31] And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
[32] And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
[33] But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
[34] And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
