WHY ASK?

(1) James 4:2(b)  …ye have not, because ye ask not.

(a) Why ask? You ask to have

(b) We will return to the first part of this verse, and the one before, and after a little later

(c) So you that know your Bible, stay focus with me for a while

(d) So we need to ask, ask implies talking, talking to God, or as we know it praying

(e) So people don't have because they don't pray, ask

WHY ASK

JESUS TAUGHT IT

(1) Matthew 7:7(a)
   Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;

(2) Matthew 7:9-11
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
[10] Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
[11] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

(3) Matthew 18:19
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

(4) Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

(5) John 14:13-14
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
[14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

(6) John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(7) John 16:23-24
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
[24] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

(8) John 16:26
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

(a) What is Jesus saying here, you pray and I will make intercession for you

(b) If you will pray and have faith, the Father will never deny you what you want.

(c) He always hears Me. If He did not spare Me in sufferings and death He will not refuse to give you what I died to give you
Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

(d) When you pray in My name or by My authority the Father will always hear and answer, because this is what He sent Me to tell you, so let this be a settled fact in your lives
John 16:27
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

FINE TUNE YOUR HEART

(1) James 4:1-3
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
[2] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
[3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

(a) Notice the desire of their heart; their heart is out of tune

(2) Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

(a) When we search for God or the things of God with all our heart, we don't ask amiss, we are not concern with our desires, but His desires

(b) So this is what I am calling fine tuning your heart

(3) Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

(a) The desires of ones heart is giving to the ones who fine tunes their hearts

(b) When ones heart is fine tune, their heart is to delight God
(5) John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

(a) You abide in Jesus when your heart is fine tune

(b) Jesus' words abide in you when your heart is fine tune

(c) Fine tune your heart, and ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

(d) Fine tune your heart, and you shall have
