TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE
PART VII
Jesus came to undo what Satan has done
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

PREACH THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD
(1) Luke 4:18-19
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
[19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
(2) Here Jesus announced to mankind that for a fixed period of time God was willing to extend His hand of mercy toward His creation - you and me.
(3) This is a time when God would allow mankind the gift of unmerited favor —
(4) The gift of salvation and freedom from His righteous judgment,
(5) Allowing mankind, His prodigal sons and daughters, an opportunity to come home.
(6) In the Greek, the word for “year” used in this passage represented something we must never forget.
(7) It illustrates an image of time with both a beginning and a definite end
(8) While at the same time not being specific as to its length.
(9) In other words, this time period of God’s mercy, compassion, and grace toward mankind will DEFINITELY come to an end sometime in the future.
(10) When Jesus stood up in the synagogue and started to read Isaiah chapter sixty-one
(11) Isaiah 61:1-2
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
[2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
(12) He abruptly stopped without finishing the rest of Isaiah’s prophecy.
(13) Instead He closed the book and said in Luke 4:21, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
(14) In so doing, Jesus made it extremely clear that this was all of Isaiah’s prophecy to be fulfilled at this time, or this season.
(15) The very next line in Isaiah is a chilling, foretelling of God’s next item of business with mankind after this “Acceptable year of the Lord.”
(16) The next line in Isaiah reads, “And the day of vengeance of our God!”
(17) This should bring a sense of urgency within our hearts for proclaiming the gospel to mankind.
(18) This is the acceptable to preach the gospel to the poor, to preach good tidings to the meek
(19) This is the acceptable year to heal the brokenhearted
(20) This is the acceptable year to preach deliverance to the captives
(21) This is the acceptable year to recover the sight of the blind
(22) This is the acceptable year to receive what Jesus came to do and that is to undo what Satan has done
Isaiah 61:2
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
(1) The acceptable year of our Lord will pass one day, and then the day of vengeance of our God will begin
(2) Rev. 6:17
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
(3) 1 Thes. 5:9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
(4) 2 Thes. 2:7-8
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
(5) Rev. 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
(6) After the acceptable year of the Lord.
(7) Luke 21:22-28
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
[23] But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
[24] And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
[25] And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
[26] Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
(8) Luke 21:36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(9) Luke 4:19
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
(10) 2 Cor. 6:2
(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
(11) Hebrews 10:31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
(12) Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(13) Satan has come that we might stand before God in the uncleanness of our sin
(14) But Jesus came that we might stand before God in the cleanness of his righteousness
(15) How will you stand before God
JESUS CAME TO UNDO WHAT
SATAN HAS DONE
