1 Thes. 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 53:1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
WHAT JESUS PAID FOR
(1) The chastisement of our peace
(a) Not only did He pay for our peace; but He took our chastisement
(b) Chastisement = correction
(2) John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
(a) Unsaved people enjoy peace when there is an absence of trouble;
(b) Christians enjoy peace in spite of trials because of the presence of power, the Holy Spirit.
(3) John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
(4) Acts 10:36
The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
(5) Romans 1:7
To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
