Luke 4:14
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Now after Jesus overcame the temptation of the devil He returned in power
Jesus said in
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
So power comes after the Holy Ghost comes upon us
Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Power comes from being with the Lord
The Greek word for power is the same in all three of these verses
dunamis, Greek 1411, Strong’s
dunamis, doo'-nam-is; from Greek 1410 (dunamai); force (literal or figurative); specially miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself) :- ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, might (wonderful) work.
Psalm 63:2
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
There is nothing more noble than longing to see God's power and glory in the sanctuary
And nothing is more needed
The power and glory that God wants to manifest in the modern church is the same as that manifested in the early church
The fullness of God in the Spirit baptism and the gifts of the Spirit
Acts 3:12
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
If we have power it is not our own it is God’s
If we walk in holiness it is because God gave us the ability
Acts 4:7
And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
There is power in the name of Jesus
Acts 4:33
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 6:8
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:19 (a)
Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God;

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
