OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IV
John 7:37-39
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
If any man thirst
So what Jesus is about to say is for anyone
Anyone who is thirsty for the things of God
[38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Those that believe on Jesus the way that the scripture teach, will have rivers of living water flowing from them
[39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
From verse 39 we see that the rivers flowing from us is the Spirit; The Holy Ghost
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
In John 7:39 we find the Holy Ghost was not yet given; in 14:12 we find we will be able to do the works of Christ, if we believe what the scriptures teach; also we find Jesus going back to the Father
When Jesus got back to the Father, he was glorified, and when he was glorified he sent The Holy Spirit to the believers
This is how believers can do the works of Jesus The Holy Spirit is sent to them; it really is the Holy Spirit doing the
work
John 14:15-18
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The Holy Ghost is called Comforter
The Holy Ghost is a teacher
The Holy Ghost brings Spiritual things to our remembrance
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
Jesus sends The Holy Ghost from the Father
He is called Spirit of truth
The Holy Spirit testify of Jesus
John 16:7
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 16:12-15
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
[14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
[15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
