(1) Last week we look at what Satan had come to do
(2) At one time Satan had control of your life
(3) But then came Jesus
(4) John 20:26
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
JESUS CAME
(1) Jesus came to undo what Satan has done
(2) 1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
(3) Jesus came that we could have life – and that we could have it more abundantly
(4) Who can undo what Satan has done
(5) His name is Jesus
HOW JESUS IS ABLE TO UNDO
WHAT SATAN HAS DONE
Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
I.
THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD
WAS UPON HIM
(1) Luke 4:1
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
(2) Luke 4:14
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
(3) Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
(4) Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
(5) Jesus came to undo what Satan has done
(6) Jesus left His Church here to carry out the work that He started that is to undo what Satan has done
(8) Now we can understand John 14:12
(9) John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
(10) So you see for Jesus’ Church to be able to undo what Satan has done
(11) The Church has to be able to do the works that Jesus did and greater works if need be to undo what Satan has done
II.
ANOINTED TO PREACH
(1) Isaiah 10:27
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
(2) The anointing destroys the yoke, the yoke is something that Satan has done, the anointing will undo the yoke
(3) 2 Cor. 1:21
Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;
(4) The Church is anointed it is anointed by God Himself, it is anointed to destroy, to undo what Satan has done
III.
PREACH THE GOSPEL
(1) Matthew 4:23
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
(2) Romans 15:19b
I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
IV.
PREACH THE GOSPEL
TO THE POOR
(1) Rev. 3:17
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
(2) The riches man in town is going to die tonight
(3) 2 Cor. 6:10
As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
(4) Romans 8:9b
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(5) Genesis 6:3a
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man
