THE PEACE OF GOD

(1) Philip. 4:7
   And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

(2) The peace of God in action

(3) It passes understanding

(4) Passeth - Strong's Greek Number 5242 - to excel, to be superior, better than, to surpass

(5) So we see that the peace of God excels understanding

(a) The peace of God is superior to understanding

(b) The peace of God is better than understanding

(c) The peace of God surpasses understanding

(6) Have you every seen someone have their world torn apart – but still had peace, or maybe you have went through something and had peace, when every understanding would say there is no peace

(7) The peace of God passes understanding

(8) The peace of God shall keep your hearts and minds

(a) Shall keep – Vines Word Study - "to guard, watch, keep"

(b) So we see that the peace of God will guard your heart

(c) We also see that the peace of God will guard your mind

(9) This is why peace is so important in our lives

(10) It will do you good to read and study Philippians 4

(11) 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(12) The peace of God will work for you if you will do the verses before and after verse 4

(14) This wonderful benefit is only found in one staying in Jesus

COVERNANT OF PEACE

(1) Numbers 25:12
   Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
(a) God made a covenant of peace with his children, how many know that God can fulfill his covenant

(2) Isaiah 54:10
   For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

(a) The covenant of His peace shall not be removed

(3) Psalm 4:8
   I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

(a) We can sleep in peace because, in the Lord we dwell in safety

(4) Psalm 29:11
   The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

(a) Peace is a blessing, and that blessing is from our Lord

(5) Psalm 37:11
   But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

(a) The meek has an abundance of peace

(6) Psalm 85:10
   Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
(a) You show me a man or woman who is living righteous, and I will show a man or woman that has peace

(7) Psalm 119:165
   Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

(a) Those that love God’s commands His Word, have great peace

(b) We see from this verse that when we have the peace of God nothing offends us

(c) When we get offended we need to check our love for God’s Word, because it is our love for His Word that produces great peace, which will keep us from getting offending

(8) Isaiah 9:6
   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

(a) JESUS IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE

(9) Isaiah 26:3
   Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

(a) Learn to think right

(10) Isaiah 32:17
   And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

(a) This verse tells us that if we work righteousness it shall bring peace
  
(11) Isaiah 48:18
   O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

(a) If we hearkened to God’s commandments our peace will be as river always flowing

(b) Have you notice in some of the verses we have went over that peace and righteousness goes with each other

(c) I wonder if our peace is gone, where is our righteousness

(12) Isaiah 48:22
   There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.

(a) No peace to who – the wicked

(13) Isaiah 54:13
   And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

(a) Peace for our children, we would do well to study the bible and find out how to get this for our children

(14) Haggai 2:9
   The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.

(15) John 14:27
   Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

(16) Romans 2:10
   But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

(a) Look at the stuff that comes to the one who does good works, looks like Paul preach a little works here

(17) Romans 15:13
   Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

(a) Fill us Lord

(18) Romans 15:33
   Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

(19) Romans 16:20
   And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

   And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
