The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

(2) Deliverance = (Strong’s) ctphésis = af-es-is; from 863; freedom (fig.) pardon: - deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission
(Vine’s) = denotes a release, from bondage, imprisonment, in Lk. 4:18 it is used of liberation from captivity

(4) Jesus came to undo the work of Satan

(5) We are to preach deliverance from fear

(6) 2 Tim. 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
(7) Some things are not given by God

(8) Spirit of fear is not of God

(9) God gives power, God gives love, God gives a sound mind

(10) Fear is a spirit

(11) You have power over spirit’s

(12) Luke 10:17
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

TO UNDO WHAT SATAN HAS DONE

(1) Luke 10:20
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

(2) In verse 17 we see that the seventy said that devils were subject to them, in verse 20 we see Jesus said reinforce that statement, he said “that the spirits are subject unto you
(3) 1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

(5) Prefect love casts fear out

(6) Fear has torment

(7) Sometimes prisoner’s of war were put through torments

(8) Torment is of the enemy, the enemy is Satan

(9) Jesus came to undo what Satan has done

JESUS CAME TO RELEASE
THE CAPTIVES

(1) Release comes by walking in the light.

(2) 1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

(3) John 8:31
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

(4) John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

(5) You shall know the truth, if you continue in His Word

(6) John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

(7) The Son will make you free, if you continue in His Word

DELIVERANCE FROM THE FLESH

(1) Deliverance from the works of the flesh

(2) Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

(3) 2 Cor. 12:19-21
Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.
[20] For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
[21] And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

(4) 2 Cor 12:19-21 (NIV)
19 Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; and everything we do, dear friends, is for your strengthening.
20 For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you as I want you to be, and you may not find me as you want me to be. I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder.
21 I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will be grieved over many who have sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual sin and debauchery in which they have indulged.

(7) Ephes. 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.

(8) Col. 3:5-7
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
[6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
[7] In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
